From the shingle bank, it is a fascinating sight.<\/p>\n<h2>When and how to watch<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Come at low tide, ideally two to three hours before low water.<\/li>\n<li>Bring binoculars or a spotting scope: the animals stay well away, and that is exactly as it should be.<\/li>\n<li>Check the tide times and keep an eye on the returning water, which can come in fast.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Watching without disturbing<\/h2>\n<p>Seals are wild, protected animals. The regulations require you to stay at least 300 metres away: coming closer sends them fleeing into the water and puts the young at risk.
