The Parc du Marquenterre

A sanctuary for migrating birds

North of the Baie de Somme, the Parc du Marquenterre is one of the largest bird reserves in Europe. Season by season, storks, avocets, spoonbills and thousands of migrating birds stop here, at the heart of a protected nature reserve.

Trails and hides

Waymarked trails wind between dunes, marshes and woodland, dotted with hides. Naturalist guides along the route help you spot and understand the species. Bring binoculars and sturdy shoes.

Practical information

  • Open all year, with seasonal opening hours.
  • Allow half a day to make the most of the route.
  • Binocular hire and a shop on site.
